This week is National Inclusion Week (Monday 25 September to 1 October), a week founded by Inclusive Employers that is dedicated to celebrating inclusion and taking action to create inclusive workplaces.

With more than 1 in 10 of us experiencing loneliness at work often or always, fostering a sense of belonging and connection is an essential part of building a truly inclusive workplace. Our latest blog post discusses what workplace loneliness is, why addressing it matters, and how we can address it.

The series of lockdown restrictions and social distancing measures had a devastating impact on care homes with many residents feeling isolated and lonely. In this blog, Stacy Young and Katy Goodliffe from BT Care Home Companions share how the project set-up by a group of BT employees in 2020 to help tackle loneliness in the UK.

In this blog, Lorraine, a listening volunteer at Birmingham Samaritans, shares what she’s learnt about loneliness and her experiences of being there for people who need to be heard. For Samaritans, Talk To Us month is where they remind everyone that 23,000 listening volunteers are available 24/7, providing emotional support to anyone struggling.
